Open Play is your time to enjoy Mahjong at your own pace, meet fellow players, and simply enjoy the game. Whether you’re after more practice or Mahjong has already become part of your routine, our two-hour sessions are about good games, great company, and time spent around the table.

Complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and snacks come with every session. Bring your own bottle if you’d like — a $10 cork fee applies.
Street parking is right outside on Beaver Street. Arrive about 15 minutes early to settle in and pick a set from the Tile Bar.
One Thing to Know
Open Play isn’t a class
Players should know the basics of American Mahjong and be comfortable playing independently. Brand new? Start with Mahjong 101 and come back once you’ve played a hand — our staff are on hand for questions either way.

Already one of us?
Jade members get five sessions a month, Diamond members eight plus a guest pass. Book the same way — your sessions come off the top.

Do my sessions roll over if I don’t use them?
They don’t. Your sessions reset on your own renewal date — the same day each month that your membership bills. Join on the 12th and you start fresh every 12th, with five sessions on Jade and eight on Diamond. We’d rather you come play than bank them.
Can I bring a friend?
Always. Diamond members get one guest pass a month to bring someone along at no charge. Otherwise your friend is welcome to book an Open Play visit for $40 and sit right down beside you.
Can I bring my own wine?
Yes — bring whatever you’d like to drink. There’s a $10 corkage fee per bottle, and we’ll handle the glasses. Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks are on us with every membership.
Do I need to know how to play?
Not at all. Plenty of our members sat down for the first time knowing nothing. Start with Mahjong 101 and you’ll be playing a full hand by the end of one session.
Does my membership cover more than one person?
Each membership covers one player. If you and a friend both want a standing seat at the table, you’ll each want your own — and you’re welcome to book the same sessions together.
