Our Story
Like a lot of good things, Dot Dot Darling started with family, a celebration, and a table.
In January 2026, our family traveled to Charleston for a Mahjong-inspired getaway to celebrate the birthday of Terrianne.
The trip brought together Terrianne; her daughters, Chelsianna and Arabella; daughters-in-law Gretchen and Paris; and Darling Family Friend Catherine for a girls’ weekend filled with celebrating, exploring, and, of course, Mahjong.
We had already fallen in love with the game after Chelsianna introduced Mahjong to the family the summer before. But experiencing a dedicated Mahjong studio in Charleston sparked something bigger.
We looked around the table and thought: we could create something like this at home—and make it completely our own.
And just like that, the beginnings of Dot Dot Darling came home to Sewickley.
The Family
A Family Affair
Dot Dot Darling is proudly women- and family-owned, and that family spirit is woven into everything we do.
Each of us brings something different to the table—from business and operations to design, finance, social media, and all the little details that make a space feel special. Different generations, different talents, one shared vision: to create a place our community would genuinely love to gather.

Terrianne
Mother
Mahjong to me is about family and community connection around the table of beautiful tiles. I am a very visual person, so the different colors and patterns of the tiles just draw me in. As the matriarch of the Dot Dot Darling girls, my memory and concentration get a workout which is a bonus for my aging mind! Terrianne is a mother of six and is affectionally known as Lolli to her three grandchildren. She resides in Sewickley with her husband Jim and has a passion for cooking.

Chelsianna
Daughter
My favorite part about Mahjong are the tiles, of course! They’re just too pretty. I also love a game that takes me to a section I’m not as familiar with (almost!) as much as getting Mahjong. When she isn’t thinking about mahjong Chelsianna loves a good morning run and is a stay-at-home mom to her three young children. She grew up in Sewickley and feels blessed to still call it home with her husband, children and miniature golden retriever George.

Arabella
Daughter
What I love about Mahjong so much are the people & connections it brings around the table. I’ve always been a very social & bubbly girl, so I love that Mahjong is just as much about the conversations, giggles, & friendships formed as it is about the game itself! Outside of Mahjong, I am a fashion obsessed girly, & hope to pursue a personal styling career in the industry one day! I also absolutely love caring for children & have been a nanny for a sweet little boy for over 2 years now! I grew up in Sewickley with my amazing family & still live there today!

Gretchen
Daughter-in-law
My favorite part about Mahjong is the social aspect, as well as the competitiveness. You can have fun with your friends, while also competing, and keeping your mind sharp! Outside of Dot Dot Darling, Gretchen loves spending time with her family and golfing. She resides in Sewickley with her husband Keaton and two doodles Maisy & Millie.

Paris
Daughter-in-law
My favorite part about Mahjong is playing and spending time with my girls. It’s not just a game, it’s about the social aspect, meeting new people, the beauty of the tile sets and being able to come together to do something we all love. Outside of the studio, I enjoy spending time with my husband Caulin, family & our two goldendoodles Winston & Alfie.

Catherine
Darling Family Friend
My favorite part of Mahjong is the way it brings people together and creates quality time with friends and family. I also love the beauty of the game. Each tile set has its own personality, and every hand comes together in such a unique way. Outside of Dot Dot Darling, I love spending time with friends and family and have recently found a love for cooking and baking!
Sewickley
Bringing It Home
When we began imagining Dot Dot Darling, we knew we wanted to create more than somewhere to play a game.
We wanted to build something special for Sewickley—a place to learn Mahjong without feeling intimidated, meet new people, gather with friends and family, discover beautiful pieces for your own table, and simply have fun.
A place where someone can walk in knowing absolutely nothing about Mahjong and eventually become the person teaching their friends.
A place where generations can gather around the same table.
A place where community happens naturally, one game at a time.
That’s the heart of Dot Dot Darling—and we can’t wait to share it with you.
